October 2008

Starting off the month of October for this year has been a little different and a little slow. Actually it was the last week of September that gave us all a bit of a shock. Most everyone now knows of Bruce's motorcycle accident that happened a day before our two shows at Jerry's Bar & Grill. Most of us have had something that gave us a wake up call. Believe it or not Second Nature has had them as well. In this case to make a long story short Bruce was just outside of his home on his Harley getting ready to make a right turn. While stopped at the stop sign a fifteen year old girl pulled right next to him unaware of him. She then made a right turn right into Bruce! This broke Bruces' left tibia bone on his left leg. Fortunately there were many people right there who professionals that just happen to be off duty. These were police and firefighters who just happened to be huge Second Nature fans. Good thing they liked our music! :) If you want minute by minute details please just ask Bruce.

Looking back into September Second Nature really didn't have much to talk about. Starting the month off at the state fair was really nice. Second Nature performed on opening day which we had never done before. The Styx and Kansas show was going on in the grandstands so we expected everyone to show up around 10 PM. The show actually got out around 10:30, so a little late but it sure did heat up after that! Second Nature first started playing at the Roadhouse Deli back in 2005. It is now becoming one of the state fairs hottest bear gardens.

Finishing out the month Second Nature had a wedding to perform at which was a great one at that but just not the same as a regular show. So what's in store for October? Well Second Natures has the Loft 150 for two nights, then followed up with a private party at the Epic Center. October 25 Second Nature will be support the Boo & Brew which donates all their funds for battered women. Second Nature believes in this event and is very proud on giving their time and talents to all the volunteers and contributors to this special event.

Then to finalize which is usually the second biggest event of the year next to New Year Eve is Halloween. With Halloween being on a Friday you can bet that things will be smoking here in Hutchinson at the Grand Prairie Hotel. Last year Second Nature had over 1200 screaming fans (take a look - CLICK HERE). This year we are expecting even more so they are opening up the convention center in the Grand Prairie. If you are planning to stay the night and want a discount on your room just say "We are with Second Nature!" it's that easy.
